Tom Watt Cup - Semi-Final - 19 April 2010
Our team traveled to Castleknock on Saturday to play Everton F.C. in the semi-final of the Tom Watt Cup. Everton are the leading side in our Leinster Senior League division, so this was going to be a real test of our progress! Our team played their best game so far and came away with a 2 – 0 victory. A special word of praise goes to our defence, who kept a clean sheet, overcoming a problem we have tended to have of leaking goals. We are looking forward to the final in a few weeks. Victory in the cup would crown a very successful first season in this all-Irish LSL league. Having dropped some points midway through the season, second place is probably the best we can achieve in the league, in which Everton are nearly out of sight. Special thanks to Brian Arkins, Founder and Secretary of Everton F.C., who made us very welcome and graciously congratulated our team afterwards! Appreciation to Referee, David Fisher, who took no nonsense and was fair to everybody. Finally, thanks to the students who came along to support our team!
Wish EID Football Luck - 12 April 2010
EID F.C. has returned to winning ways after a slightly barren period recently. Victories in 2 closely contested games at home to Swords and Balbriggan have restored morale. This Saturday, we are away to mighty Everton in the semi-final of the cup. Wish us luck!!
Pele visits us in Dublin
None other than the famous Pele was in Dublin. Denis, the school director, and some of our football players got a chance to meet him and get an autograph. Lucky!
